The movie has premiered around the world and finally arrived in Sydney on Friday but we got what those other cities didn't - a group of Senior Citizens in mobility scooters gracing the Red Carpet.
Bad Grandpa stars Johnny Knoxville and he demonstrated he could also do Silly Walks.
The flick is about an 86 year old who takes his grandson on a trip from Nebraska to North Carolina and is part of the Jackass series (we're told by Paramount this is a cult series although the films have eluded the Shuttle to date). Sadly the Shuttle had a dinner appointment so we missed the actual screening as apparently did our group of seniors who we noticed being loaded back onto a tour bus before the film started. Still, it's the thought that counts.

Woman & the Melbourne Cup

A perfect Spring day (it isn't always so) and colour was the order of the
day. Flemington fashions are simply gorgeous.
Myer, one of the main sponsors spends around $250,000 on the day for promotions. But they reckon they also sell around 25000 dresses during the racing season. Here are just a handful.

Late afternoon at the Champagne Bar in Paddington's Bellevue Hotel is the place to gather during the racing season. This year they have opted for Piper Heidsieck which will soothe any shattered nerves or heighten the senses if you won or lost big on the big race. We aren't too sure if Piper was Marilyn Monroe's favourite tipple as the poster says, but it is a favourite of the movie set in Hollywood. And look at who was at the launch party, all manner of exciting people.

Training Angelina

| Luke & Scott with Sarah Wilson |

My Kitchen Rules' stars Luke Hines and Scott Gooding have entered a crowded market with a new book : Luke & Scott : Clean Living. They promise to transform you into a healthy specimen in 3 weeks.
The pair launched their book at the Bondi restaurant, The Bucket List on a blustery evening and still managed to pull a sizable crowd including TV's Andrew O'Keefe and the lady who has herself transformed many lives, writer Sarah Wilson whose bestseller about killer white sugar is still flying off the shelves.
Luke has another gig lined up: he'll be
training Angelina Jolie went she settles in for a few months to film the WW2 movie Unbroken .Hines also has to transform the film's star into a malnourished air crash survivor while still keeping him healthy.

It's that season again : social writers flocking to Melbourne for the Spring Carnival and attempting to impress their readers that they are missing out on an amazing event. The Shuttle's attended more than we care to think about but in the past few years Melbourne's racing season has descended into a sort of bogan tragedy. Minor 'celebrities' are trotted out and placed in front of the dreaded photo wall that now plagues every event around the world. The days of being flown by private jet by interesting people are basically over (the Shuttle flew with Richard Branson once in a special Virgin flight and 3 times with the late Jim Fleming in his Lear jet.)It's just very hard work and these days you cannot wander as you could in the past, from marquee to marquee. Needless to say the media will trill over this year's slebs : Hamish &Andy (spotted any day at Kings Cross), Kris Smith (male model) and the aging Naomi Campbell (yawn).

Erika- Wow !

THE NEWLY SINGLE Erika Packer arrives at the Vogue party last week.
Despite media tales about the empty ginormous complex hubby James Packer has built in Vaucluse the Shuttle hears from pals that the patter of tiny feet will be heard in the amazing house now reputed to be costing $80M, as both mum and dad will share the upbringing of the 3 young Packer heirs.
Friends say Erika will be looking for a house within walking distance of the Packer complex. Like most Packer splits, this one has been amicable, or at least we will never hear any details if it wasn't. The Packers demand and get, total loyalty.
How much does an ex-Packer wife get in a divorce?. Fiancee Kate Fisher reputedly picked up $15M while Jodie Meares got a house (and one for her mum) and around $30M. Erika with 3 small children ?. According to our resident divorce expert James will see little change from $100M.

Having fled back to his native Geelong leaving behind a broke Big Picture Agency in the UK, the unfashionable haired Darryn Lyons who labels himself Mr Paparazzi has announced his candidacy for Mayor of the illustrious Victorian city.
Lyon's Agency went bankrupt in the UK last year with photographers claiming they were owed unpaid royalties. In 2008 Lyons was ordered to pay actress Sienna Miller $40,000 in damages for harassment and he lost an appeal against Harry Potter author J.K.Rowling who won a court case against his agency,
Virgin Atlantic also launched an inquiry after it discovered employees were feeding Big Pictures confidential celebrity travel details. Last year Lyons left his garish London flat with it's Warhol prints ( although how Andy managed to paint Lyons when he died in 1987 is a mystery) by co-incidence just as the Leveson Inquiry was getting underway.
Now settled in Geelong Lyons has joined the Liberal Party (have they no shame ?) and a few days ago announced that he would " call upon ideas from overseas, particularly London, and use my high-profile contacts to benefit Geelong. "My ideas from worldly knowledge and travel knowledge about looking at other cities and how it works and looking at the concept for success is my key platform for the future,". Yes dear. Whatever.
Alas the voters of Geelong may have other ideas if comments in the local newspaper are an indication: these are some of the nicer ones.."No way", "Good grief, please get us a leader with business smarts and a personality. Blue hair belongs at Bingo sessions". "Ratepayer funded cosmetic six packs for all council members as the first priority."

Significant events :
Congratulations to motivational speaker and advertising guru Siimon Reynolds and his gorgeous wife Kathryn Eisman who have taken possession of a beautiful daughter, Capri. The happy trio now live in the USA.
*************************
The Shuttle has felt the sharp tongue of a tabloid hack from one of Australia's oldest media organisations that is losing sales at around 20% a year and has sacked hundreds of workers in the past 5 years. The mocking in print we received defies the fact the Shuttle has had around 2 million readers in the past 3 years and has about 2200 visitors a day.
The arrogance of the established media knows no bounds yet when The Guardian set up a local online newspaper less than a year ago it succeeded in becoming the third daily visited website in Australia.
A few months we were contacted in relation to a top secret project underway : and now the news is out.
EBAY founder and billionaire Pierre Omidyar is putting $250M into a new media organisation that is to be headed by Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald of Edward Snowden fame. Omidyar and Greenwald intend bypassing the printed media and old style hacks who seem oblivious to the rapidly changing world.
********************
Meanwhile the highly successful local Eastern Suburbs newspaper Latte Life which now distributes throughout Surry Hills, Paddington, Double Bay and Darlinghurst will celebrate it's 3rd Birthday with a gala party tonight at Hugos in Kings Cross !. And they said it wouldn't last...congrats to all.

Picture Post
Spotted at the Black & White Charity Committee's annual ball last weekend- Sydney party girl Sharon Sargeant and her paramour Frank Monte. International man of mystery Monte now spends most of his time in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, returning to Australia 4 times a year to visit friends and relatives.
This year's bash was held in a marquee in Centennial Park with a fun park theme and as our snaps show, Ms Sargeant got into the spirit of the occasion. Certainly the gent in our second pic seems to think so. Money raised goes to aid the Royal Blind Society.

Also pictured are LA based comedienne Jackie Loeb and Australia's Got Talent winner Jack Vidgen- all grown up- at a party at the Californian Australian Consulate in Los Angeles for a fundraiser for Netball America.
Loeb is a regular at the comedy clubs around LA and Vidgen has set up home there with his mum as he continues his quest to conquer US show biz.

Some lovely snaps of some very pretty people at a London party. No Terri Biviano or Laura Csortan at this bash and not one Alex Perry frock in sight !. That's a sure sign you ain't in Kansas any longer. And we're overjoyed to see Baz Luhrman's Great Gatsby has finally had an influence on British fashion- or is it Mary Poppins?.
The do was for Rimmel, one of the world’s oldest beauty brands who reckon they are the fashion-forward inventor of the hip London look and have been since 1834. The party was hosted at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden and as you can see from the gorgeous models below, they dipped into the Museum's drag box.
