Nice Set of Wheels

New York got Daniel Craig when the new Range Rover Evoque was launched earlier this year but we got someone far prettier and a tad taller Jennifer Hawkins who did the honours at a rather swell party at the Overseas Terminal.

On the wharf  with a view directly opposite the Opera House it was the perfect evening. Other 'ambassadors' were on hand-George Gregan and Heidi Middleton who joined 250 guests including Skye Leckie, Tom Waterhouse, Magdalena RozePeter Overton & Jessica Rowe for a cocktail party. You really have to sit in one these cars to appreciate them- pure heaven!

Here is promotional pic from the new film Diana based upon the last turbulent years of the late Princess Diana.

Naomi Watts plays Diana and bears an uncanny resemblance to the fated royal as the Shuttle's own snap shows taken on Diana's last visit to Australia in 1996.

Gold Everywhere

radiant : Sonia Kruger
UK cricketing captain David Gower may think Australian cricket fans are devoid of culture but the Aussie cricketers sure have damned fine luggage. That was evident at this week's 2013 Gold Ball where one of the auction items was a splendorous set of Louis Vuitton luggage created for cricket captain Michael Clarke.
The Louis Vuitton luggage was just one of the many donated items along with Paspaley Pearls and world airline trips that saw around one million dollars being raised for the Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick.
The Gold Ball brought out 350 of the good and great including former prime minister Paul Keating and captains of industry including the new slimline 'Aussie John' Symonds and new girlfriend Amber Keating , PM Paul's former daughter-in-law and a newly svelte Joe Hockey MP.
Also there was Nine Network boss Jeff Browne and partner Rhonda Wyllie. Nine will be hosting the Gold Telethon this Queen's Birthday Holiday and Nicole Kidman, the hospital's patron has kicked in $100,000 to get the ball rolling.

The Tony Assness designed ball room was really quite sensational with what seemed a million candles glittering and with catering by Matt Moran and endless crates of the finest chilled Bollinger. The idea first kicked around by PR gal Skye Leckie and Professor Les White (Chief Paediatrician for NSW Health) 17 years ago has grown to be the must attend social event.

Germaine Greer : British Culture "Rotten To The Core"

"The British find it very hard to believe what every outsider knows – that their culture is rotten to the core.".." Assange, who is about to be extradited to Sweden to face charges of being a terrible fuck. "
Germaine Greer is furious. Her phone wasn't hacked !
"You can imagine how crushed I am to discover that I am NOT on any of the lists of potential hackees!
My phone remains inviolate! To someone as desperate for publicity as myself, this is proof positive that I have fallen into utter obscurity. Not even in the first 4000! "
Greer continues :
"It matters not to the British commentators that Rupert M. has dumped Australia for the US. Every move he makes reveals him to be a treacherous Antipodean. Hordes of noble British workers have lost their jobs because convict-spawn Rupert has exercised his brutal power and closed the doors of the News of the World, even as it was being read to the nubs by seven million British half-wits."

Germaine has written a piece on the new website Hoopla set up by comedienne Wendy Harmer for the over 35s. Harmer has roped in a bunch of women like Greer, broadcaster Angela Catterns and Jessica Rowe to contribute and its all rather fun.

Go to the Hoopla website here and read more.
