Passing of a "super agent"

Australia's best known impresario Harry M.Miller has died at age 84. Miller was suffering from dementia.
Originally from New Zealand Harry become Australia's top promoter of international acts bringing the biggest names in show business to Australia and managing some of our top names in entertainment over a career that last 50 years.
Harry M with Lindy Chamberlain, one of his clients
Whispers first met Harry when as a callow youth we received an invitation to the opening of the Hippie musical Hair in the old Metro Theatre in Kings Cross. Our female partner for the night decided to wear a see thru dress with a flesh coloured body stocking underneath but which gave the appearance of bare skin. The press were delighted as was Miller who rushed over to congratulate her. Later that evening as the show ended we joined dozens of audience members on stage to dance and ended up in a jiving trio with the late TV show King Graham Kennedy.
Miller managed Kennedy, on and off during his career in an often tumultuous relationship.

The last time we met up with Harry was at the launch of his autobiography "Confessions of a Not So Secret Agent' where Harry was joined by many of his clients like the famous"Dingo lady" Lindy Chamberlain.

Every Christmas Day Harry would spend the day feeding the homeless at The Wayside Chapel in Kings Cross, the charity started by his pal Ted Noffs in the 1960s.

Harry is survived by his partner the restaurateur Simone Logue and daughters Justine, Brook and Lauren and their mother Wendy Miller who still oversee Miller's celebrity management business.
The family have asked  friends to donate to Dementia Australia and the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers.

Since arriving in Sydney around 20 years Whispers has often seen Deborah Hutton around town. And she doesn't seem to have changed a bit. Vivacious, impeccably groomed and very good looking. What is her secret? Is in the genes or is it what she eats?.
Deborah has now launched her first recipe book so perhaps that will give a clue. Here is a lovely snap of her from the launch on Friday night. Doesn't she look great !
The book My Love Affair With Food is published by Women's Weekly - Deborah is an ambassador for Australia's top selling mag - so it will be available everywhere including newsagents,

Old Pals Party

FORTY years ago this Sunday, hero of the left and Labor Party icon Gough Whitlam ended 23 years of Liberal Party rule when he became Prime Minister.
Lulworth House resident Jeanne Little
On Friday the current Labor PM Julia Gillard survived the News Ltd led onslaught about...well no-one knows quite what except for the Opposition's repeated claims, echoing Rupert Murdoch's The Australian  that she "had questions to answer".
In her closing speech to Parliament for the year Ms Gillard paid tribute to Gough and his triumphs :ending Australia's involvement in the Vietnam War, free university education, universal healthcare and the recognition of China, now out biggest trading partner.
As the Shuttle revealed in early 2011, 96 year old Gough, who Sir David Frost described as "the most intellectual political leader he had interviewed"  is now living in the luxury nursing home  Lulworth House in Elizabeth Bay.
On Sunday the Whitlam clan will join Gough to celebrate his remarkable win in '72.

Gough, Neville & Harry M.
Perhaps Gough's fellow residents will pop in for a drink. The entertainer Jeanne Little who sadly is suffering from altheimers but still recognises people, and his fellow Labor great Neville Wran who was NSW Premier for 10 years, and the promoter Harry M.Miller . Our spy says Harry greatly enjoys breakfasting with Neville, despite the fact it was Wran's government that jailed Harry for 10 months in 1982 over the Tickertek fraud.

Saucy Pics of Deborah Hutton

Womens Weekly has a nude photographic of TV personality Deborah Hutton on it's cover. Deb is looking pretty hot for someone who has just turned 50 (despite the claims the snap may have been airbrushed).

Hutton hasn't stop working since the 1980s when she was the cover girl for the Grace Bros emporiums (now Myer). At that time the speculation was that she was girlfriend of promoter Harry M.Miller. The two were often seen arm in  arm at social events.

But it was all a cover. Harry was Deb's manager for many years and steered her career from success to success. Deborah has never married and now shares an apartment with a gal pal Danni Roche. She's also become a property investor and has snapped up two flats that are being built in the old Harold Park site at Glebe.
Harry & Siimone

Sadly Harry M's health has been failing over the past two years since a stroke downed him and he spends more and more time in a Potts Point nursing home where other residents include former PM Gough Whitlam and TV star Jeannie Little.
Miller was the agent for the stars and once dated singer Shirley Bassey. His clients have included Lindey Chamberlain and Gae Waterhouse and in the 60s he brought some of the world's top acts to Australia including the Rolling Stones and Louis Armstrong.

In his 2009 autobiography he revealed how Prince Charles had confided over dinner that he always believed Australia would and should become a republic one day. Two or three times a week Harry lunches with long time partner Siimone Logue at her Potts Point restaurant. Sadly the two rarely make it to red carpet openings these days,
