The Star lights up for Summer !

Whispers can't really think of a better spot to party during summer than at the Terrace Rooftop Bar at The Star in Pyrmont. With sensational views as you can see above- gorgeous Laura Csortan checks it out - and lots of pretty people plus drinks & fine food with cool harbour breezes. What more could a mortal want? And the following list of lovely celebs at the launch shindig all swear they put in regular appearances and that includes Richard Wilkins, actor Dan McPherson, Laura Dundovic, singers Nathaniel & Samantha Jade. beautiful Jodi Anasta and Sally Obermeder. They're in our pictures below and most are Ambassadors for the Terrace so you can guarantee it will be a great place for star spotting. And where else can you play flamingo croquet?

 We've only just discovered this game : you pile wood bricks on top of each other and keep removing one to place at the top. And then they all fall down !. We thought it looked like fun.

 X-Factor discovery Nat Conway (right) sang at the launch: it's tad noisy but that's because folks were having so much fun !! Below : Richard Wilkins captures the action on the Flamingo Croquet pitch.

 

Pooch Wrestling at Banter

An interesting collection of guests turned out for the opening of the swish new French restaurant Banter in Surry Hills. Karim Ghabi of Casablanca nightclub fame hosted the evening while the delectable Laura Dundovic accompanied him greeting guests.

 One face we haven't seen out on the town lately, Fashion school supremo Leanne Whitehouse (left) who has been embroiled in a controversy over the Pm's daughter.  She sat quietly in a booth with designer Charlie Brown.
And we also got to meet Bentley, the largest feline in town who arrived in the arms of a friend of Christa Billich.
Bentley surveyed the scene with a rather haughty look and later wrestled a poor dog to the ground before going to sleep in a violinist's case which he was soon ejected from by a disgruntled musician.

From sampling some of Banter's delicacies on the night, this should be another fine addition to Sydney night life.

Following our story yesterday about how Jennifer Hawkins has been replaced by Jessica Hart for the Myer fashion carnival in the G'Day Australia USA promotion in Los Angeles, news comes that two more leggy beauties are joining Jessica on the catwalk.

Laura Dundovic who is a Myer ambassador and Pia Miller will strut the boards to showcase Aussie fashions in the USA in February.

As for Jennifer, she was spotted by our operative today holidaying in Byron Bay with new fiancee Jake Wall. The loss of the income from her canned USA trip isn't having too much effect on the pair's finances. Jennifer is sporting a $200,000 engagement ring whipped up by the Shuttle's favourite jeweller, Nic Cerrone.

And she should feel flattered that it has taken three models to replace her!
