Our missing associate

Whispers has been working on along term film project with one of Hollywood's most respected independent producers and directors. Over the past 2 years activity has quickened and brought us into the circle of a whole new world of film people. Eighteen months ago we began to get entreaties from this producer but have largely ignored them as there wasn't really a reason to connect. We don't even know how contact was first made nor does Whisper's partners, who say it's quite common as talk in Tinsel Town reverberates many enterprising folk look to connect with what they think may be a successful project. Imagine our surprise when this report appeared in the UK Telegraph yesterday. It's worthy of a film script itself:

Missing film producer who disappeared owing £45m ' betrayed' friends

Patrick McMullan reports from New York

It was the cultural event of the season - An Evening with Stella McCartney in Conversation with Jerry Seinfeld  at the Alice Tully Hall.

All her closest friends came to support her big night, Liv Tyler, Drew Barrymore, Kate Upton, Carolyn Murphy, Seth Meyers and dozens more. It even brought in a little The Beatles reunion with her father, Sir Paul McCartney, Dhani Harrison & Yoko Ono. The sublime soiree left virtually everyone on cloud nine.

Earth to News Corp #4

Another colourful feature in the glorious Daily Telegraph, Rupert Murdoch's flagship Sydney newspaper.

In a picture gallery titled Celebrities-Then and Now featuring stars when young and how they look today, such as Kelsey Grammer, Drew Barrymore, Andre Agassi etc, this one caught our eye with the caption:

Celebs then and now :  Elijah Wood and Macaulay Culkin as child stars in 1994 film "The Good Sons"
Followed by this one with the caption:
Almost unrecognisable from his years as a child actor..Macaulay Caulkin in 2011.
..err..yes, probably because it isn't Macaulay but his younger brother Kieren Culkin.
Macaulay is still recognisable even at the age of 30 as you can see from this snap from 2011:
With Fox Studios boss Kim Williams, a stickler for detail taking over the helm at News Corp and all of Murdoch's Australian newspapers, be warned-there will be no more of this nonsense.
